Hybrid Battery Replacement: What a Compatibility Listing Means

A compatibility listing names vehicles and set counts. It does not name an approval from any vehicle maker, and it does not promise that a pack fits a vehicle the listing never names. This guide explains how to read such a listing, using only the hybrid-car listings on this site, and it keeps every fitment inside the listing that actually names it.

No founding year, headcount, phone or named contact is published on this site: those records conflict between sources and are not settled. Contact goes through the inquiry form.

The family on this site is nickel-metal hydride replacement cells and packs at 7.2V, 14.4V and 19.2V, all at 6500mAh. Those three voltages and that capacity are the family's listed figures. Within the family, each listing carries its own set count and its own fitment, and the set count from one listing never applies to another listing's vehicle.

The listings name applicable vehicle makes including Toyota, Honda, Lexus, Camry and Highlander, presented as a compatibility listing. That presentation matters: a compatibility listing is a seller's statement that a pack is listed for those vehicles. It is not a statement from the vehicle maker, and no vehicle-maker approval is published anywhere on this site.

Set counts belong to one listing each

The Prius module pack listing names 14 pieces per set. The Insight model S3 listing, for the years 2009 to 2014, names 7 pieces per set. The Lexus CT200h listing names 14 pieces per set, and the Lexus ES300h listing names 17 pieces per set. The Auris listing names 14 pieces per set. The first-generation Accord listing names a 7.2V cell at 20 pieces per set, with a cell nominal voltage of 7.2V, an operating range of 6.0 to 9.6V and 45Wh as listed for that cell.

Each of those counts is that listing's only count. A buyer with a Prius does not order the Insight count, and a buyer with an ES300h does not order the CT200h count, even though both are Lexus listings. The vehicle name and the set count travel together, and splitting them apart creates a fitment the listing never made.

The 14.4V module listing also records a 90Wh figure at the one-hour rate, a storage range of minus 20 to 35 degrees Celsius, an operating range of minus 30 to 55 degrees Celsius, and a three-year warranty as named in the listing. Those figures belong to that module listing. Whether they apply to a different module in the family is a question for the pre-order confirmation, not an assumption this guide makes.

What 'compatible' does and does not mean

'Compatible' in these listings means the seller lists the pack for the named vehicle at the named set count. It does not mean the vehicle maker tested, approved or supplied the pack, and it does not mean the pack is identical to the vehicle's original pack. The listings describe replacement cells and packs, and this guide keeps that word: replacement, not original, and listing, not endorsement.

Compatibility also does not extend by similarity. A listing that names one model year range does not cover a different model year range, and a listing that names one vehicle does not cover a related vehicle with a similar name. The Honda page on this site follows the same rule: it covers the Insight and Accord listings it can name, and it does not extend coverage to a vehicle no listing names.

A buyer should therefore read a fitment listing as a narrow claim: this voltage, this capacity, this set count, for this vehicle, as listed. Anything wider than that — a different voltage, a different count, a different vehicle — is a new claim that needs its own listing before it may be published or relied on.

What to confirm before ordering

First, confirm the module voltage: 7.2V, 14.4V or 19.2V, at 6500mAh, as listed for the family. Second, confirm the set count for the exact vehicle named in the listing, using the counts in the first section of this guide and the fitment page for that vehicle. Third, confirm the cell or module figures for that listing: the Accord cell's 45Wh and operating range, or the 14.4V module's 90Wh and temperature ranges, as listed for those listings only.

Fourth, confirm the warranty position as named in the listing for the module under consideration. The three-year warranty named in the 14.4V module listing is that listing's figure, and it is presented here with that label. Fifth, confirm the physical questions the listings do not settle on their own: whether the set fits the vehicle's existing housing and connections, and whether any fitting work is needed. Those questions belong in the pre-order confirmation, because no listing on this site answers them for a named vehicle.

A buyer whose vehicle is not named in any listing on this site has no coverage claim here at all. That is not a statement that no pack exists for the vehicle; it is a statement that this site's listings do not cover it, and the honest route is the inquiry form rather than a borrowed fitment.

What this guide deliberately leaves out

This guide does not repeat production or longevity claims from the listings as findings of its own. The listings contain wording about production lines, discharge and charge rates, years of use and accident history, and none of that wording is presented here as an independent safety or longevity finding. A buyer who needs a safety or longevity commitment should ask for the evidence behind it before ordering, rather than taking listing wording as proof.

This guide also publishes no price figure. Hybrid battery questions often arrive with cost in mind, and the fitment pages on this site carry no price figure for the same reason: no price evidence is listed for these models. A cost question belongs in a quotation for the exact set count and vehicle, not in a guide about what a listing means.

Finally, this guide does not treat a set count as a repair instruction. Replacing a hybrid battery pack involves the vehicle's high-voltage system, and the listings name parts, not a procedure. A buyer should confirm who will carry out the work and what that work involves before ordering, through the inquiry form. Before payment, confirm MOQ, lead time, voltage, warranty and certification scope for your order.
